Late post today. Considering I should have been asleep an hour ago, that’s a little frustrating.
Finally got to the gym after over a week though, so that was awesome!
As was the Superbowl, of course. Fly Eagles fly! All very exciting.
Some people may have noticed that I missed a post yesterday!? I fell asleep during a viewing of The Naked Gun and spent the first half of the night on the couch.
Missing a day of my goal makes it easy to justify giving up. I messed up the streak, so why keep going? I’m tired, can’t I miss one more day and post in the morning?
Here I am again though!
Using one mistake as an excuse to give up is a one way ticket to regret.
I’m going to San Fran in July, and I don’t want to come back to my blog then, wishing I had six months of content already.
It’s okay to rethink goals, and tweak them a little if needed. Plans change, and it can take some trial and error to learn what’s realistic for yourself.
Those learning moments are fine, but using a ‘failed’ goal as an excuse to give up doesn’t accomplish anything.
Maybe I’m not going to post every day of 2018, but I don’t have to miss more than one.
Losing one game and giving up doesn’t get anyone closer to the championship.
The hardest part of accomplishing goals is overcoming adversity, even from you!
Hang in there, pump yourself up, and get back to it.
Seriously. Power pose, write an inspiring blog post, whatever. I’m feeling more motivated already. The important part is bouncing back.
I can do it.
You can do it.
Cheers to accomplishing goals!
