10 days later… Merry Christmas!!
The blogging is off to a bit of a rocky start. As I mentioned previously, writing can be hard! It’s been 10 days since I’ve tried to blog at all and a fair bit has happened, including Christmas!
So I’m writing at 11pm on Christmas, and I actually ran today. On Christmas. Twenty is going to be a good year for me.
I’ve decided to shape up some bad habits, because every minute counts. We’re not quite to giving up dog videos, but flossing my teeth only takes an extra minute and is not worth it to skip! Five days ago I went to the dentist for the first time in a while (maybe 2 years??) and in about a week I get to go back. Possibly to have a root canal.
Twenties Task #1 – Don’t skip the floss.
I am completely the person who went to bed without brushing (ick, I know!) through high school (and freshman year of college) and this root canal looming in the new year is not worth it!
This year is about building good habits.
Fall semester, I had an amazing gym buddy, so I moved away. Obviously changing schools was another factor, but My New Year’s resolution isn’t to get to the gym more. However, I will be setting some new fitness goals. The first is to run more.
Specifically, I have run a mile the last two days, and my goal is to maintain a run streak until the end of spring semester. I’m not going to say forever, and I’m not going to run 5 miles every day, but I am going to run a mile, every day, until May 5, 2018.
Twenties Task #2 – Run streak through spring semester.
Thirdly, and to wrap up this post before it becomes day 14:
Twenties Task #3 – I am going to blog every day of 2018.
This time next year, I will have shared 365 snippets of convoluted thought with whoever takes a minute to travel with me. I’m not doing the math of how many minutes that is, but I’m excited to see how they turn out. Cheers to taking on this twenties trip.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
